Real Estate- My Journey

I have always been drawn toward working with people from the time I was very young but I wasn’t sure what that would look like. Growing up in Queens, New York, where we have lots of cultures and personalities living in close proximity to each other, I've always loved meeting new people. I love to learn about what's important to them, what their values are, what new perspective could they bring into my life.... I spent the first several years of my adult life doing church/aid work in Central Africa which is where my two oldest boys spent their early years. Even while living there, I felt a pull towards business, but didn’t know what that would look like.

Luxury Lifestyle

Middle Tennessee has long held the reputation of being marked by rolling hills, unending woods, horse farms, and sprawling properties tucked into this beautiful corner of the South. With downtown Nashville growing in world class restaurants, bars, luxury hotels, shopping, and a fine arts community, it is no surprise the unique balance of country and city life draws new homeowners from around the country. Within a day’s time, one can experience a stunning waterfall hike in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, then make it back in time for a Broadway play at the TPAC downtown Nashville.

Quality of life is one of the biggest motivations that attract home buyers from out of state. Growing small towns and pristinely-kept suburbs surround the Nashville area. Upscale dining, theater, and shopping are all within a moderate distance to many areas.

Whether you are looking for a posh, downtown highrise like the Four Seasons, the 505, and Broadwest, or a more suburban experience like what The Grove and Hidden River has, Middle Tennessee offers different options when looking for that luxury lifestyle in the South.

Moving to Tennessee

After years of representing out-of-state buyers, streamlining the process has never been more important. In a day and age when homes are selling quickly, the need for having a real estate agent ready and equipped to conduct a virtual showing in a timely manner, run comps and gather property information, and craft a strategic offer that will win in a multiple-offer scenario is imperative.

Initially, I like to schedule an initial phone call or video call appointment so that I can meet the buyer and get a good idea of what they are looking for. From there, we discuss price range, specific home needs, location options, timing, etc… One of my objectives is to get to know my buyer and also any questions they may have for me. I understand that trust is the foundation of a working real estate relationship, so it is important to me that the buyer feels comfortable and informed throughout the process.

Once we have found a home and are under contract, I am my out-of-town buyer’s “boots on the ground”. I like to attend the inspections and continually keep the buyer informed as we move through the different stages of the transaction. Different areas of the country conduct real estate differently, so allowing them to have an informed experience is a great way to mitigate some of the potential anxiety and uncertainty that comes with purchasing a home from afar.

Ultimately, I want to make my buyer’s home purchase a pleasant experience. Having strong representation from someone you trust cannot be underestimated, especially when making such a big decision.

Information for Sellers

With over 10 years of selling real estate in Middle Tennessee, I am proud to have successfully pushed the envelope on pricing when representing my sellers. Actively working with buyers allows me to keep a pulse on market trends, which has proven invaluable when listing my clients’ homes. Each home is different and getting to know not only my sellers but also the perks about their home is helpful when marketing. I work with great stagers, virtual stagers, organizers, and cutting edge photographers and videographers that team work to showcase your home in the best light, ultimately getting the most money for your listing. I have “broken comps” in many neighborhoods over the course of my career, getting the top price-per-square-foot in the community and thus increasing the value of neighboring homes.

It is never too early to start the conversation about selling. It can sometimes be a quick decision based on job relocation or different needs, but often it is a plan put in place months before a listing goes live. I strive to not only get my sellers the most money for their homes, but I also want them to be as much of a part of the process as they would like. Giving my sellers feedback from showings, updated market stats, and info on competitive listings keeps us on the same page as we go through the stages of listing and selling your home.

If you are curious about what your home might be worth or what home updates would be most worth your money in the long run, please don’t hesitate to reach out, whether you have immediate plans to sell or are considering it for the future.

Information for Buyers

One of the more rewarding parts of my career is representing clients on the purchase of their first home. This can be an equally exciting and terrifying time as a ton of new information is being thrown around. I like to say, “There are no dumb questions in real estate,” and that is especially true when it comes to purchasing a home for the first time. My goal when working with first-time homebuyers is to demystify the process and walk with my client through each stage of the transaction. I never take it for granted that my buyers are trusting me with what is often one of the largest purchases of their life.

Whether you are purchasing for the first time or the tenth time (and everything in between), I am committed to going step-by-step in making sure we have a solid strategy in place and that your interests are represented the entire time. Negotiating on your behalf as well as working with you to write the offer that wins the day is a big part of the home purchase process, along with navigating through inspections, appraisals, and other stages of the transaction where guidance and representation is needed.

If you are interested in discussing current or future home purchasing goals, please reach out and let’s start the conversation!
